As Tru-Stone is a product made from 100% natural stone, it is naturally kinder to the environment. It doesn’t contain chemical-based polymers, resins, fibres, gypsum or aggregates. So we use less harmful products and we reduce transport costs. Click on the links below to find out more.
Reduced transport miles
Because fewer raw materials go into making Tru-Stone, then transport miles are reduced too. This saving is passed on to you. So we cut down on harmful materials, and you cut your costs.
Environmental legacy
The benefits of this production method go beyond its manufacture. Because Tru-Stone doesn’t contain aggregates, it cannot discolour or become roughened when exposed to the elements. So it wears and ages like stone, but does not suffer from the usual surface breakdown.
Recycled materials
Tru-Stone is so flexible that recycled materials can be mixed in to both save money and provide a closer match to the original surface. Further savings can be made by using tru-Stone wherever stonework would be financially impractical.
Energy Efficient
Tru-Stone meets all the modern energy requirements for building and is compatabile for use on projects striving to achieve a UV-6 energy rating.
Working towards the future
As part of our continued committment to the environment, Tru-Stone continue to look at ways that it can be an intregal part of environmentally friendly building processes in the future.
Tru-stone is currently working with Professor Saffa Riffat, head of the School of Built Environment at Nottingham University and President of the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies (WSSET), and his students to develop products that will help meet this criteria.
